Gastritis diet

The nutrition of gastritis: what can be eaten and what can not be eaten?

Gastritis is one of the most common diseases of our time. Frequent snacking and dining out, a wide variety of fast food, poor-quality food poisoning-all of these can lead to gastritis. This may be why many people now suffer from stomach problems. But how to deal with them?

For this reason, there is no need to take medicine regularly. The main treatment is the correct and carefully selected diet, which will not cause mucosal irritation and disease deterioration, but at the same time will saturate the body with all the necessary macronutrients and vitamins.

basic rules

The main task of the gastritis diet is to adhere to a diet that ensures normal digestion. The gastritis treatment table (daily) should contain:

  • 90-100 grams. Squirrels (and 60% of animals),
  • 50-80 grams. Fat (75% animal)
  • 300-320 grams. carbohydrate.

Nutritional rules for gastritis:

  1. Measuring knowledge. For gastritis, the phrase "you should keep a slight hunger after a meal" is more meaningful than ever. First, the feeling of fullness only appears 10-15 minutes after eating, and secondly, gastric overflow cannot cope with its function, especially gastritis.
  2. diet. First, you should follow food intake (at the same time). Second, patients with gastritis should eat in divided portions, 4-5 times a day, but at the same time refuse snacks (they will cause "excessive" secretion of gastric juice during breakfast/lunch/dinner and reduce its production, thus violating the process of food processing and assimilation). You should categorically exclude reading while eating and watching TV and "running on the road".
  3. Rest after eating. After each meal, you need to rest for 15-20 minutes (no need to sleep). You can read books or listen to music.
  4. Chew food. Chewing food for a long time (at least 25-30 seconds per piece) helps to more thorough mechanical processing of food, thereby promoting the work of stomach problems. In addition, hunger in this situation will be satisfied more quickly (this can prevent overeating). Reject complicated dishes

The total energy value should be 2200-2800 kcal.

High acid nutrition

For this form of gastritis, it is recommended to use a diet designed to protect the caloric and mechanical properties of the stomach and reduce the secretion of gastric juice.

Allowed products:

  • Casserole, cheesecake, dumplings, oven-baked cheesecake;
  • Milk, especially tea, all types of fermented dairy products, including yogurt and yogurt, fresh cheese puree;
  • Fish, meat or chicken broth cooked with cereal broth;
  • Dry white biscuits, vegetables and butter, milk soup with cereals or pasta;
  • Steamed egg rolls, bagged eggs, vegetable dishes in the form of mashed potatoes, puddings, souffles, light tea, sweet fruits and jelly berries, cream and preserves;
  • Veal, lean beef, chicken in the form of meatballs, pudding, zraz, steamed meat steak (1-2 times a week, it is allowed to cut cooked lean meat into pieces).

Contraband:

  • Fatty mushrooms and broth;
  • Carbonated drinks;
  • Spiced bacon;
  • Raw vegetables, kimchi, kimchi, spicy vegetable snacks, lemon juice;
  • Black bread.

The purpose of the diet is to aggravate gastritis with high acidity, normalize the function of the intestines and stomach, and limit thermal, chemical and mechanical stimulation.

The food pyramid of gastritis

Low acidity nutrition

The purpose of a low-acidity gastritis diet is to (moderately) stimulate the production of gastric juice and mechanically protect the stomach.

Low-acid gastritis prohibited foods:

  • Restrict pearl barley, beans, millet;
  • Fresh bread, baked goods (the "heavy" food in the stomach, which complicates chemical and mechanical processing);
  • Oily and salted fish;
  • Vegetables and fruits containing crude fiber (cabbage, radish, radish, cucumber, sweet pepper), mushrooms;
  • Fatty meat, meat with fascia (film), canned food, bacon (insufficient processing of food machinery, excessive release of hydrochloric acid);
  • Spicy and salty cheese, milk-neutralize hydrochloric acid;
  • Berries with grains or thick skins (raspberries, strawberries, red currants, gooseberries, figs);
  • Spices and herbs (stimulating the stomach lining), as well as chocolate, grape juice, alcohol;
  • Lard and fat from pork, beef, and lamb (cannot be absorbed due to the low production of hydrochloric acid, a product that is difficult to digest).

Food should be eaten after the start of the secretion of hydrochloric acid, that is, the first stage (advertising or programs about food, beautiful pictures of food, "delicious" conversation will cause the release of gastric juice).

Diet for acute gastritis

Special attention should be paid to the diet of acute gastritis. The requirements for the product are the same as for all types of this pathology, but more stringent.

In the acute form of the disease, it is recommended:

  • Low-fat cheese
  • Yesterday’s white bread, no pastries or muffins;
  • Only lean meat, cooked and mashed or chopped;
  • Soup made only with vegetable broth;
  • Non-acid preserves and jellies;
  • Half-boiled eggs or steam omelets;
  • For the vegetable puree in the baby food series, you can also borrow fish puree from the baby's jar;
  • Sugar-free tea or infusion.

During the immediate deterioration in the menu, they were completely excluded:

  • Products containing preservatives, flavor enhancers, and artificial colors;
  • Raw vegetables and fruits;
  • Milk and any dairy products;
  • All types of pastries, except yesterday's bread;
  • Margarine, cooking oil and butter;
  • barley;
  • All kinds of beans and legumes.

In addition, all general restrictions on the product itself and its preparation method remain valid. Under normal circumstances, the crisis will pass within 3-4 days, and then according to the general recommendations of gastritis patients, the diet becomes more varied.

But ideally, patients diagnosed with gastritis should follow the recommended form during remission. However, menu extensions and holiday exceptions are possible. If only within a reasonable range, if we are not talking about coffee, cigarettes, alcohol and high-fat foods.

Can I . . .?

What is allowed and what is not allowed? List of basic food and drinks.

  1. Fish-Only low-fat types of marine fish, such as pollock, cod, and hake. Among river fish, zander and barracuda are the best. It is best to reject canned fish and fried fish completely. In their manufacturing process, all useful properties of any fish will be lost, and a lot of spices and preservatives will be produced. Carcinogens may not stop there. As with meat, it is best to steam the fish and limit the spices.
  2. Coffee-It is absolutely impossible to drink black coffee on an empty stomach, even if there is a lot of gastritis, especially if the acidity of the stomach increases. Low-acid coffee or cocoa can be added with milk, but the quantity is limited.
  3. Meat-Patients with gastritis can eat, but only low-fat varieties-beef, veal, chicken, rabbit. Steamed pork steak is particularly useful for gastritis because the meat is chopped and steamed. If it's just steamed meat, you should chew it very carefully and don't overuse it, because any meat products will burden your stomach. Naturally, neither smoked nor undercooked smoked sausages and sausages can be used to treat gastritis.
  4. Cheese-spicy or too salty cheese is not allowed for any gastritis, even ordinary hard cheese should be eaten in small amounts.
  5. Bananas-Can bananas be used to treat gastritis? This is a healthy fruit with a small amount of fiber, soft texture, easy to digest, and contains a lot of nutrients needed by the human body. Moreover, although the No. 5 diet prohibits eating fruits such as dates and bananas, many gastroenterologists believe that moderate consumption will not cause harm, and people with gastritis should also be able to eat bananas.
  6. Watermelon is something you can eat for gastritis, but it is rarely eaten. For any acidity, you can only eat 1-2 tablets.
  7. Melon is almost the hardest plant product, not only for the stomach, but also for the pancreas and gallbladder. Even the digestive tract of an absolutely healthy person can hardly deal with melons, so every gastritis patient should give up this suspicious product.
  8. Chocolate-it is better to give up the product altogether.
  9. Nuts, seeds, beans-nuts of any kind cannot be used to treat gastritis, as are seeds and beans.
  10. Honey can be used because it has wound healing properties and is considered a strengthening and useful product. However, moderation is good for everything, especially since many people may be allergic to bee products.
Cod gastritis

Is it possible to get rid of gastritis completely?

In mild cases, superficial gastritis, if you lead a healthy lifestyle and abide by the following strict rules, it is possible to completely cure it, but in fact it is a rather difficult task:

  1. Eat 5-6 times a day, and within a certain period of time, the last meal should be at least 2 hours before going to bed.
  2. Adhere to a diet and avoid dry food or fast food.
  3. Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol.
  4. Eliminate any overeating and long meals.
  5. Lack of physical strength and overwork, constantly monitor your physical state, don’t overwork, don’t overwork, sleep at least 8 hours every night, preferably 1 hour during the day.

It is also worthy of effort to develop resistance to stress (stress resistance) or to eliminate mental and emotional overload.
